The Best Winter Rest and Reset

Winter has a way of slowing me down, giving me the rest needed after a busy Christmas season!  Often I will close up the studio on Christmas Eve and not step back in until the New Year arrives.  This year I ventured out, visiting a sweet friend in Virginia and getting rest and rejuvenation all in the same weekend.  Tiffany Scott is the owner and creator behind Holly Lane Christian Jewelry and a dear friend and fellow mompreneur.  I love when women can get together and encourage, inspire and pray for one another in all that they are doing in their life and work. 

We started each day with coffee, prayer, parfait and a hop step over to her studio to check on the studio girls. She was preparing for her one-of-a-kinds launch and I got to "peek behind the curtain" of how another creative manages her business.  The hive was busy and each sweet gal moved from one station to the other; packing boxes, printing labels, beading chains and editing photos in a flurry that gave the snowflakes outside a run for their money!

Seeing I was no competition for the dance I slinked off to the creator's workbench to admire the process, imagination and minute skill of working in metal clay.  Her large magnifying glass made the trinkets appear larger than life and more manageable for my seasoned eyes.  We both work in clay, hers of metal, mine of earth and both with their own kinks; but watching her transform this fine white "dough" into gleaming silver is a magic that fills me with a renewed spirit to shake the dust from my workbench and get back to work!

So, with many hugs and "see you soons" I whirled back to the beach with ideas abounding, hopeful for a slow saunter to Spring and a waltz around my studio once again!
